ICES is a diverse group of sugar artists ranging from business owners to hobbyists - cake decorators to candy makers - professionals to homemakers. The purpose of ICES is to share, promote, encourage, publicize, and enlarge the appreciation, love, practice, and recognition of sweet art.
ICES meets four times a year for Days of Sharing. These are meant to encourage and inspire with new and sometimes even old ideas of enjoying the arts. Meetings are held in different areas of the state to include everyone and make travel a little easier for everyone. Demonstrations of new products, sharing of ideas, and fellowship together are core features that make these days worth the time. ICES is led by a State Representative. Some of the Rep's responsibilities include recruiting new members, organizing and conducting regular state meetings, attending annual ICES Convention Rep's breakfast and Midyear ICES Rep's meetings, attending and participating in annual cake show and convention, and communicating with ICES board of directors. The State Representative is assisted by four alternates. They are to assist the representative in any area requested, including taking the representative's place at midyear and annual meetings. They are responsible for hosting one of the four yearly IN ICES meetings. State representatives and alternates are elected each year at the June meeting. There is also a secretary and treasurer. |
